# About BurnADA.org

Why BurnADA.org exists, who runs it, and what we will never ask you for. A free educational project by the team behind the BKV Cardano stake pool.


BurnADA.org started in December 2023 as a small experiment by the team behind [BKV Pool](https://bkvpool.com/), an independent Cardano stake pool run since 2021.

We kept getting the same question from people in the community: *"How do I get rid of these spam tokens?"* Cardano had no simple, trusted answer. So we made one: a public burn address that nobody controls, with an explanation anyone can check.

## What we want

- **Help.** Give people an easy, safe way to clean up their wallets.
- **Teach.** Explain in simple words how scripts, tokens and addresses work on Cardano. Understanding these things makes you much harder to scam.
- **Be open.** Every number on this site comes straight from the blockchain and is updated every epoch.

## What we will never do

- We will never ask for your recovery phrase, private keys or passwords.
- We will never ask you to connect your wallet to this site. You only ever send from your own wallet.
- We do not charge anything. The only cost is the normal Cardano network fee.
